How Its Made

Your pen starts out as a block of wood, either domestic or imported, from various countries around the world.

Cutting Stage
The wood is then cut into smaller "pen blanks" on a band saw.
Drilling Stage
The selected pen blank is then drilled to the proper size depending on the type of pen being made.
Brass Tube Insertion
A brass tube is then inserted into the drilled hole and secured with epoxy.
Squaring the Blank

The wood is cut slightly longer than the brass tube so that after insertion, the wood can be sanded down and "squared" on each end, even with the tube.
Turning the Blank

The blank is then turned on a lathe until its the correct diameter for the type of pen being made.
Calibration Stage
The turned blank is checked several times to insure it meets exacting standards for fit and finish. It is then polished while still spinning on the lathe.
Assembly
The various parts of the pen are then assembled on a pen press after aligning wood grain patterns and clip location.
Finished!
Your pen is now completed and ready for delivery. It is shipped in a presentation case with a certificate indicating the type of wood used, its country of origin and a few interesting facts about the wood.
